First, download the FirstClass client software on your computer.
If you are using a PC click here, if you are using a Mac click here.
When you are asked what to do with this file, make sure you choose to save it, and that you know where that file is being saved and what it is called, so you can locate it later. If given a choice, save it to your desktop.

| Next, double-click on this file to start the FirstClass installation. |
You should see a window similar to the one on the right.
If you are installing this software on a PC. Click on Next.
If you are installing this on a Mac the images will look different, but the procedure remains the same.

Click Yes to agree to the license .
|
|
|
Click Next to have the software installed for any user.
|
|
|
Click Next and allow the software to be installed in the default destination location.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Click Finish, and the FirstClass Client should run for the first time.
If it does not, double click the FirstClass icon on your desktop.

|
Click on the Advanced button.
|
|
|
Click on the Setup button.
|
|
|
In the Server field enter; firstclass.mma.edu
Click on the drop-down menu for Encryption and change the selection from Default to CAST-128
Check the box for FirstClass secure authentication only
then click on Save . |

You should be able to enter your User ID and password.
If you are Faculty, Staff, or returning Student your User ID will be your your firstname.lastname and your password will be current password.
If you are a new Student your User ID will be your firstname.lastname and you will have to complete the password activation process by visiting the MMA Self Service site, here.

When prompted that you have No saved public key, click Accept
The installation and initial setup of the FirstClass software is now complete.
